Rhys

Rhys started out in the entertainment industry from the age of ten, travelling up and down the UK and Europe with his father performing falconry displays to thousands of people. Being an eager performer he set his sights on music, playing in local bands from the age of 16 and turning to music as a profession at the age of 18!

Rhys’s first contract abroad was in 2012, as an entertainer. This included comparing acts, hosting game shows whilst also performing many different tribute shows and acoustic sets in the evening as a singer across the Costa Dorada.

After returning home to the UK from 3 years working in Spain, Rhys was eager to pursue a career as a singer guitarist and was lucky enough to be offered a contract on board the MS Magellen and Marco Polo as a Singer in the production cast. Shortly after starting Rhys was in demand for his acoustic guitar performances in the lounges and deck parties around the ship.

Rhys continued to work on board cruise ships changing between a solo artist and also as part of the production cast. After just 4 months he was offered the promotion to assistant cruise director, which gave him the opportunity to get involved in organizing the entertainment onboard, whilst still being able to perform.

After 8 months at sea he decided to focus on his music and went straight in to being a resident acoustic guitarist for Thompson Sensatory brand 5* hotels preforming in in Egypt and Mexico and also a small stint on the Thompson Majesty cruise ship in the same role.

Since finishing his last contract onboard the Majesty, Rhys has been the frontman of a residency band based at Butlins, Minehead, which has included playing both acoustic and electric guitar. The band has been in high demand, having extra dates and acoustic sets added, and specific shows written for them, whilst taking the band elsewhere performing at both party’s and weddings across the UK.
